Falakrou Ski Center
The winter sports resort attracts many visitors who enjoy its modern facilities, the quality of the snow here (with a little luck) and the breathtaking views.
The Falakrou ski center was founded in 1980 by the Mountaineering Association of Drama and is located 46 kilometers outside the city. It is one of the largest and most well-equipped ski centers in Greece, while the total area it covers is over 600 square kilometers.
The central facilities of the resort are located on the plateau of the Holy Spirit at an altitude of 1720 meters. The highest chalet, with a magnificent view, is located at an altitude of 2110 meters. It has detachable aerial lifts, fixed-grip lifts, surface lifts as well as baby lifts that can transport guests to the 21 existing runs.
In the ski center one can find a restaurant, a guest house and a place to rent all the necessary ski equipment. There is a 600-space parking lot and a fully equipped doctor’s office.
Apart from the skiing and snowboarding activities which are undoubtedly the ‘highlights’, there are many visitors who visit the area in the summer and other months of the year to try other activities such as hiking, climbing and mountain biking.
